The Muji radio project was part of a Product Design Branding exercise done at Central Saint Martins school or Art & Design. The goal was to pinpoint essential characteristics of our client brand Muji and incorporate those traits into a whole new product – a radio.

Throughout time, the radio as an object played a very important part in users' daily life. Nowadays, however, the interaction with radios has changed completely. From frequencies to its funcionality and form, the radio plays a different part.

Muji's radio sits by the users' bedside table and offers intuitive interaction. As the alarm goes off, all the user has to do is hold down the radio with their palm, and it will open like a shell. It combines traditional Japanese furniture design with the freshness of current seamless and frugal design – such as most Muji products.
